the catio
No living in cages
Our Catio stands out from the typical setup—it’s essentially our entire yard, fully enclosed to provide a vast, secure space where our Bengals can run, climb, and play freely while remaining protected from external dangers. For added peace of mind, we’ve installed multiple security cameras throughout the enclosure to monitor their well-being at all times. Each morning, I (Lars) slide open the window from my office to greet the crew as we enjoy breakfast together, fostering those daily bonds. This convenient access also makes it simple to provide fresh food throughout the day and ensure their water is always clean and replenished. Curious about the enriching life our Bengals lead? Take a look for yourself in the video below.
Our primary goal is to maintain a small, close-knit family of Bengals that can enjoy a lifestyle as similar as possible to that of beloved house cats, with plenty of space, socialization, and family interaction. While we strive for this ideal in our ethical breeding practices, unforeseen circumstances sometimes require temporary adjustments. In the summer of 2025, we stepped in to rescue several Bengals from a retiring breeder who could no longer care for them properly. This has left us with two extra adult males who, due to their dynamics, cannot yet integrate as indoor cats. To ensure their well-being in the interim, we’ve constructed two secure, temporary enclosures while we actively search for loving forever homes. For now, our resident male, King Kong, shares the spacious Catio with the females, where you’ll see he’s completely at ease and confidently holding court as the undisputed leader of the group.
What about the bird feeders? This is a win-win solution that serves two purposes without compromising safety. While our Bengals’ natural instincts lead them to try and catch birds, the feeders are strategically placed high enough and far enough away to prevent the cats from getting into a position to actually reach them. The birds can also easily fly in and out through the large openings in the enclosure fencing. We’ve had this setup for over two years now with no bird incidents whatsoever. Additionally, the presence of the cats naturally deters squirrels, ensuring that the bird seed is reserved exclusively for our feathered visitors.

An Iconic Line Up
We keep it small.
We are not a mill.
a SMALL LESSON IN CAT NAMES
We chose the name ICONIC for obvious reasons here. There’s a bonus in the name for you.
If you purchase a kitten from us and named it ‘spacecat’, then an example of a kitten born from our cattery would be named, Iconic Spacecat when you register it with T.I.C.A. For a more specific breakdown read my primer on the T.I.C.A. naming convention.
